New Years Eve Movies

Anyone who knows me even a little bit knows that I am an absolute slave to routine when it comes to movies that I watch certain times of the year. As we bid farewell to 2012 (and GOOD RIDDANCE!) I find myself returning to these movies yet again. I love them and watch them every year.

The Poseidon Adventure (1972)

Just after midnight on New Years Eve, a huge wave crashes into a cruise ship and flips it over and it becomes a desperate quest for survival. Sounds depressing but it's pretty campy and very quotable. I've seen it a billion times.

200 Cigarettes (1999)

It's New Year's Eve, New York, 1981. The film follows several people around the city as they slowly make their way to the same party. Martha Plimpton plays the neurotic hostess desperately hoping somebody shows up, and the cast also includes Christina Ricci, Gaby Hoffman, Ben and Casey Affleck, Janeane Garofalo, Kate Hudson, Jay Mohr, Dave Chappelle, Paul Rudd and Courtney Love among others. It's cheesy, it's silly, it's a lot of fun!

When Harry Met Sally... (1989)

A classic! I love his profession of love on New Year's Eve...isn't that what every girl dreams of? Swoon!

Les Miserables

I have Les Mis on the brain! I've been the film twice so far (and I'm kind of obsessed with the musical) and I want to see it again! Anne Hathaway was fantastic, if she doesn't at least get an Oscar nomination there is no justice in the world! I also have a huge crush on Eddie Redmayne as Marius, who was amazing as well. Loved it!

Christmas 2012

Finally starting to recover from the Christmas madness! Going back to work after a four-day weekend was tough, but at least it was just for a few days. And look, it's Friday again! Hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas and here's to a very fabulous New Year!
